About our school

Bankstown Hospital School is an SSP school situated within the Paediatric Ward of Bankstown Hospital, providing an educational service to hospitalised students from pre-school to Year 12.

Bankstown Hospital School located in South West Sydney welcomes students from diverse multicultural backgrounds, with varying physical and mental health care needs.  Individualised education plans are developed for students from Government, Catholic and Independent school sectors.

At Bankstown Hospital School we aim to provide students with an inclusive, collaborative and connected environment for optimal education growth, giving them the opportunity to thrive during complex and challenging circumstances.  Our vision is to inspire students to be independent learners by creating a supportive culture of high expectations and a growth mindset to facilitate lifelong practices

OUR AIMS

  • Supporting the mental health and well being needs of students enabling staff to be more responsive to individual differences.
  • Highly differentiated student learning tasks and well designed to meet the holistic needs of students and based on preassessment data.
  • Advice from health specialists inform school staff or optimal student welfare needs, ensuring we are combining educational best practice with health priorities.
  • Establishing immediate feelings of inclusions, psychological safety and trust in our school learning environment.
